Lowell Cemetery tours this Friday & Saturday
It’s once again time for the Fall tours of Lowell Cemetery. Here are the dates and times:
Friday, September 27 at 1 pm
Saturday, September 28 at 10 am
Friday, October 4 at 1 pm
Saturday, October 5 at 10 am
All tours begin at the Knapp Avenue entrance which is right next to Shedd Park. There’s plenty of parking inside the cemetery. There’s no charge and no registration required. Just show up and enjoy walking around a beautiful, natural place while listening to stories about some interesting residents of our city. The tours take about 90 minutes of walking through the cemetery and are conducted rain or shine, although given the forecast for the next 72 hours, rain doesn’t appear to be an issue, at least this weekend. Please join us.
Today’s tour (Friday, 9/27) had 60 people in attendance. With tomorrow’s outstanding weather forecast, we might have more than that.
This morning’s tour (Saturday, Sept 28) set a new record for attendance with more than 100 people. The tour seemed to go well even with such a big crowd. I’ll do it again next Friday, October 4 at 10am and on Saturday, October 5 at 1pm.
