Preliminary Election Week – 1963

September in odd-numbered years is traditionally the time for city of Lowell preliminary elections. Since there aren’t enough candidates to require a preliminary this year, I thought I would post the results of some past preliminary elections this week starting with the 1963 Lowell City Council preliminary election. The first 18 of the 58 candidates on the ballot were nominated and would appear in the general election in November:
