It’s official! Greater Lowell Area Democrats announce that the 2015 Distinguished Democrat will be Roger Lau. Well-known to Democrats – especially Democratic activists across the Commonwealth and beyond – Roger currently serves as State Director for U. S. Senator Elizabeth Warren. Lau has served as a congressional and senate staffer as well as campaign guru for Marty Meehan, Niki Tsongas, John Kerry, Richard Neal and Michael Capuano, Hillary Clinton and more. A political “man for all seasons” – the affable, politically-passioned, ever-working Lau – always the “go to guy” for grassroots, activist Democrats in the Lowell/ Greater Lowell area was a long-sought honoree. Members are looking forward to honoring this outstanding Democrat and longtime friend and supporter of Greater Lowell Area Democrats.

In addition, young party activist from Greater Lowell Area Democrats member communities will be recognized as a “Rising Star” for their contributions to the Democratic Party and its candidates.

The Distinguished Democrat award honor will take place at the GLAD Annual Fall Brunch on Sunday October 25, 2015 at Lenzi’s in Dracut at 10:00am. Many elected officials, statewide and local candidates as well as past honorees and many of Roger’s friends and colleagues are expected to attend the event . Tickets are $40 each.
