Congressman John Tierney Visits Tewksbury this Morning
Massachusetts Congressman John Tierney represents the 6th Congressional District. In the recent redistricting based on the 2010 Census, the towns of Tewksbury and Billerica and part of a precinct in Andover were moved from Niki Tsongas’ old 5th District – now the 3rd District. Tierney has a reputation for being very accessible to his constituents and for getting out into the 6thCD cities and towns… even the far reaches. This morning he visited the annual “Applefest” craft fair at Tewksbury Memorial High School. He had a great opportunity to interact with students from various clubs and organizations who were there helping out, raising funds and selling TMHS-branded wares. After a picture taking session, they made a date for the Congressman return to talk more with the students. As the only New England Congressman on the powerful House Committee on Education and the Workforce, he is focused on improving education at all levels and strengthening the rights and protections of our nation’s workforce. http://tierney.house.gov/issues/education
