UMass Lowell honors veterans this Saturday

This Saturday, October 12, 2013, is the 3rd annual UMass Lowell Veterans “Legacy Ball and Alumni Hall of Fame Induction”, an event sponsored by the school’s Department of Veterans Services at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium beginning with cocktails at 5:30 pm and dinner at 6:30 pm.

Marie has previously written on this site about Lt. James Sweeney who will be inducted into the Military Alumni Hall of Fame on Saturday night. Also to be honored at this event are the Textile Bridge WWII Veterans and Captain Chris Sullivan, all of whom were killed in action or died while serving our country.

Here is the complete list of those who will be inducted into the UML Veterans Hall of Fame on Saturday: Lt. James Sweeney, Ensign Donald Miles Adie, Lt. Joseph H. Berkowitz, LT. Thomas W. Broderick, Lt. Thomas F. Cryan, Lt. H. Russell Cunningham, Lt. Philip C. Evans, Staff Sergeant Burgess C. Harpoot, Lt. Roger H. Kane, Lt. Edwin J. Kozera, Lt. Martin P. Murray, Private Walter H. Paige, Jr., Private Richard I. Parthum, Lt. Samuel Pearsall, Private Kilburn G. Pease, Private Earnest M. Stromvall, Ensign Frederick L. Webster, Private John J Smith, Lt. John Daley, Private Francis W. Bresler, Captain Cornelius D.J. Murphy, Jr- all from WWII. We will also be inducting Captain Chris Sullivan an Operation Iraqi Freedom killed in action soldier.

Anyone who would like to join in honoring these men is invited to attend this event. The cost is $30 for current UML students who are veterans and $50 for everyone else.
