In the Merrimack Valley: Senator Baddour Out?

Sources are telling the Boston Globe and the Eagle-Tribune that State Senator Steven Baddour of Methuen  is resigning from his seat. From the Globe:

Steven A. Baddour is expected to announce his resignation from the Massachusetts State Senate Monday, ending a decade-long run representing the First Essex District to take a job at a law firm, according to an official with knowledge of his plans.

The Democrat and lifelong Methuen resident currently serves as vice-chair of both the Senate and Joint committees on Ways and Means.

Since winning a special election in 2002, he has represented the district that includes Amesbury, Haverhill, Merrimac, Methuen, Newburyport, North Andover, and Salisbury.

Baddour could not be reached Sunday night to comment.
