Conroy to Leave U. S. Senate Race

The Associated Press (AP) is reporting that Massachusetts State Representative Tom Conroy is withdrawing his candidacy from the race for the Democratic nomination for U. S. Senate. A press conference is scheduled for later today. And then they’ll be four!

According to the report Rep Conroy:

… is ending his campaign because he has found it difficult to raise money in light of the popularity of democratic frontrunner Elizabeth Warren, a Harvard Law professor and consumer advocate.

The Wayland man says he plans on concentrating now on winning a fourth term in the state House of Representatives, but did not rule out a bid for higher office in the future.

In addition to Warren, the democratic field includes Middleton lawyer Marisa DeFranco, Newton software engineer Herb Robinson and Dover lawyer James C. King.
