Lowell Cemetery virtual tour: Horace Ebert

In the spring and the fall each year, I lead free public tours of historic Lowell Cemetery. This month, tours will occur on Friday, September 9 at 1 pm and Saturday, September 10 at 10 am. Another set will occur on Friday, September 23 at 1 pm and Saturday, September 24 at 10 am. All tours begin at the Knapp Avenue entrance to the cemetery, right next to Shedd Park. Just show up, rain or shine, ready to wander through the cemetery for 90 minutes.

As a service to those who because of time or mobility limitations, are unable to attend the tours, I hope to recreate each stop on the tour on video and post them here from time to time. Here’s my latest, Horace Ebert, a small businessman who ended up with a very unique headstone.

    The dates fror the September 30/October 1 tours above are liated as September 23/24 on the Lowell Cemetery website. Would you please let me know which is the correct set of dates?

    there was a mixup with the dates and we had to go with Sept 23 & Sept 24 as stated on the Lowell Cemetery website instead of the Sept 30/Oct 1 dates I had mentioned in this post (which I have since changed). Sorry for the confusion.
