Flag Retirement Ceremony Tomorrow

What do you do with an American flag that is faded, torn and no longer serviceable? The proper disposal method is to burn it in a dignified, respectful manner. But the idea of “burning the flag” has negative connotations in popular culture. so some might be hesitant to do so on their own. Problem solved. Bring your unserviceable flag to the Westlawn II Cemetery (intersection of Boston Road and Swan Street in Lowell) tomorrow at 10 am where the Global War Veterans will conduct a Flag Disposal Ceremony. The photo above shows the long-term storage compartment where flags can be deposited through the year to await a regularly scheduled disposal ceremony.
