Lowell Cemetery Tours this weekend

The first tours of Lowell Cemetery for this year will take place this weekend:

Friday, May 6 at 1 pm

Saturday, May 7 at 10 am

The tours are free and open to the public and begin at the Knapp Avenue entrance to the cemetery which is off Rogers Street, just behind Shedd Park. The tours take approximately 90 minutes and require a good deal of walking. They take place rain or shine.

Lowell was the Silicon Valley of America in the 19th Century. As such, it attracted scores of talented, fascinating individuals, many of whom are buried in the Lowell Cemetery. This tour will share many of their stories and accomplishments.

    If you have not taken this tour, do yourself a favor and go! It is a splendid mixture of Lowell history, sculpture and magnificent flowering trees and spring blossoms.
