Farewell, Pat McCarthy

I worked closely with Pat on Matt Donahue’s two winning City Council races in 1993 and 1995 and was always interested in his political “take” when we’d bump into each other on Market or Central streets, where he always seemed to be coming or going. Here are notes of appreciation at Gerry Nutter’s place and the Downtown Neighborhood Association.

Pat was a close friend of my brother since high school. Pat will be missed greatly. My sympathies to his family and friends.

  2. George DeLuca says:

Something that I admired about Pat was his relationship with his mother. He would take her for a stroll through downtown on Sunday, or when something special was going on. They’d be dressed up like people did when they went downtown in her day, and in ours growing up. Pat honored his mother and valued his relationship with her.
