MOH recipient David McNerney, RIP

Lowell-native David H McNerney who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions on March 22, 1967 in the Republic of Vietnam, passed away today in Texas where he had lived since his retirement from the United States Army. Below is a video of President Lyndon Johnson presenting the Medal to McNerney.

I met David McNerney at National Airport in 1984. I talked to him for about a half-hour till the 4th Division Honor Guard came to pick him up. He lived in Crosby,Texas. He was a humble man.
