Globe Editorial Praises Tsongas

In today’s Boston Globe, an editorial nod to Congresswoman Niki Tsongas’ call for colleague Anthony Weiner to resign:

…One notable exception to the pattern is Fifth District Representative Niki Tsongas, who has called for Weiner to resign. “It would be appropriate for Congressman Weiner to step down,” she told the Globe Tuesday, reiterating in person a comment she had previously made through a spokesman. That’s not an easy thing for one politician to say of a fellow party member. But kudos to Tsongas, who, coincidentally or not, is the only woman in the delegation, for not ducking.

I note that you posted the Globe June 16th editorial praising Tsongas for calling for Weiner’s resignation. Yet the Boston Herald’s Margery Eagan called for the same thing a full week earlier(June 9th) and that was not posted. Why wasn’t Eagan piece posted. The Globe seems to be a johnny-come-lately on this particular topic, jumping on after everone else had staked out a position.

P – I considered not responding but…. Margery Eagan – who I rarely read because I don’t care that much about her opinions – is not my Member of Congress. The editorial note of the Tsongas position mattered to me.

So the Boston Globe editorial board is your member of Congress? That is news to me, since I live in the same congressional district as you.
