Armand W. Alix Square – Adams/Market/Cabot/Salem streets – Armand V. Alix died in Lowell on November 8, 1921, at age 23 as the result of wounds suffered in 1918 during the Argonne Offensive in France while he served with Battery F, 102^nd Field Artillery Regiment. He was survived by his wife Florence, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Louis Alix, and a sister, Miss Annette Alix. The square was originally dedicated on September 5, 1922, at the corner of Salem Street and Common Avenue, but was moved to its current location after the Lowell Housing Authorities North Common Village was constructed.
