The Lowell Walks summertime Saturday morning series of guided walks of downtown Lowell begin this Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. from Lowell National Park Visitor Center at 246 Market Street. The topic of this week’s tour is the Western Canal which I will lead. The tour will take 90 minutes and is free.

The tour will provide an overview of the Lowell canal system and specifics about the construction and purpose of the Western Canal. It will also cover the neighborhood around the canal including the Lowell Machine Shop, St Patrick’s and Holy Trinity Churches, Lowell Housing Authority, Little Canada, and much more.
