The Tewksbury Public Library invites the public to a special program on Wed., Feb. 18, at 7 pm at Tewksbury Public Library, with author Paul Marion, who will discuss his new book, “MILL POWER: The Origin and Impact of Lowell National Historical Park,” an insider’s account of the creative, bold community-driven process to establish one of Lowell’s treasures. The park’s creation was an integral piece of an urban revival strategy that has made Lowell the subject of scores of newspaper articles, magazine profiles, TV and radio reports, scholarly papers, and book chapters. “Historic Preservation” magazine, for example, has hailed the Lowell as “the premier rehabilitation model for gritty cities worldwide.” Learn about the people who dreamed, wrote, designed, pushed, and cheered a new national park into existence.
