1989 Lowell St Patrick’s Day Breakfast
Back by popular demand, two clips of the late Ken Harkins at the podium for the 1989 St Patrick’s Day breakfast in Lowell. Ken is truly missed, especially when this breakfast rolls around each year:

Ken Harkins was a great entertainer, and oneand a 400 from the Sacred Heart Parish Ken lived in Swede Village and attended Sacred Heart School.
General Patton’s grandson came to the Lowell Cemetary recently, and I drove him around in a golf cart. I brought him to his ancestors gravesite. I made a comment and he came back with one, but as the blogger said at least he didn’t slap you.
Ken Harkins at the podium for the 1989 St Patrick’s Day breakfast in Lowell: “I picked up a newspaper, it wasn’t the Lowell Sun, because we don’t have a puppy anymore”
CLASSIC :) Thanks for sharing.
James Campbell, haven’t seen or heard about him in years… I heard that in the 90’s, he was instrumental in securing funds to rebuild Lowell’s schools. Is this true?
Dear Dick,
The entire Harkins Family would like to thank you for keeping the memory of our Dad alive! He was the type of a guy that you not only admired but that you truly liked, providing that is that you weren’t on the tail end of one of his jokes!
And for the record I believe that even dead Ken Harkins is still the funniest act to date at the Lowell St. Paddy’s Day breakfast!
Thanks for the memories,
Celia Harkins Moses
