King Star Cafe & Center City Committee
At lunchtime today I attended a gathering sponsored by the Center City Committee at the King Star Cafe at 201 Market Street. Wedged in between the Athenian Corner and the Dubliner, I’d never visited the King Star before. My only disappointment was that I had waited this long to do so. I had the special – a Reuben sandwich – that was excellent. The King Star has a limited menu of what I would favorably call “comfort food” such as BLTs, PB&J, and Macaroni and Cheese. The place is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has plenty of comfortable seating. It’s worth checking out. As for the Center City Committee, the gathering was more social than substantive, giving all who attended a chance to mingle and get to know others who are involved in downtown Lowell in a variety of ways.
