2024 State Primary Election Results

I’ve updated the Elections Page of this site to reflect the preliminary numbers from yesterday’s Democratic Primary.

There were two contested races in Lowell. In the 18th Middlesex State Representative District, Tara Hong defeated incumbent Rady Mom. In the Northern Middlesex Register of Deeds race, Karen Cassella defeated Sokhary Chau and Joseph Ready.

Here are the preliminary numbers of the state rep race:

Tara Hong – 1195
Rady Mom – 1013
Andrew Kollar – 312

UPDATED: The following totals, though unofficial, or derived from each community’s webpage so should be accurate:

Karen Cassella – 9963
Sokhary Chau – 7809
Joseph Ready – 6990

There are ten communities in the district. Here are vote totals I have found thus far, but they may change a bit when the official numbers are announced.

There was also a Republic Primary, but only a few offices had any candidates.

In the US Senate race (to face Elizabeth Warren), John Deaton won statewide. Here are the Lowell results:

John Deaton – 880
Robert Antonellis – 450
Ian Cain – 124

There was an unopposed candidate for Governors Councillor, Anne M. Manning-Martin, who received 1106 votes. She will face Eunice Delice Zeigler in November. (The incumbent Councilor for this district, Eileen Duff, ran for Essex South Register of Deeds this year.

There was also an unopposed candidate for State Senate, Karla J. Miller, who received 1209 votes (in Lowell). She will face incumbent Edward Kennedy in November.
