Lowell Monuments: Mary Bacigalupo Park

Mary Bacigalupo Park – Shattuck Street – Mary Bacigalupo was an educator and community activist who died of cancer on November 7, 2001. After teaching English and social studies in the Lowell public schools for many years, Mary became the coordinator for the Center for Field Services at the University of Massachusetts Lowell’s School of Education. When not working or spending time with her family, Mary devoted countless hours to Community Teamwork, the Human Services Corporation, Pollard Memorial Library, Greater Lowell Community Foundation, Flowering City, and the Ladd and Whitney Monument rededication. The city dedicated the small Victorian Park to her memory in 2005.
