‘Lowell Walks’ with Public Art This Saturday
The “Lowell Walks” topic this Saturday is the Lowell Public Art Collection. Rosemary and I will meet people at 10 AM at the National Park Visitor Center, 246 Market St, for a 90-minute guided tour of the monumental sculptures commissioned and installed in the 1980s and 90s in downtown Lowell. The original value was about $1 million for the artworks. Get the stories behind the story right from the source. Here’s a link to a map with the sculpture locations. Note that the Whistler and Riverfest Carp pieces on the map came later. Our tour this year will be slightly different than last summer. We had 107 people last year. Can we top that?
