City Census Arrives – Answer It!
The city census, also known as the “annual street listing,” arrived in the mail yesterday. It’s a one page form that lists the names of people who the city believes are living in the residence along with some demographic information. You just make any necessary corrections (there were none needed on mine), sign it, and send it back in the envelope that accompanies the form.
Failing to return this document can cause you to be placed on the Inactive Voter list. This could make it more difficult for you to vote in upcoming elections so the consequences of ignoring this are pretty steep. Be sure to mention this to your friends, neighbors and associates.
Speaking of elections, the form mentions the three that will be held this year. They are:
Tuesday, March 1, 2016 – Presidential Primaries (last day to register is February 10)
Thursday, September 8, 2016 – State Primaries (last day to register is August 19)[Ed.Note: My original post said this was a Tuesday. That was out of habit of elections being on that day of the week. But this election will be on a Thursday].
Tuesday, November 8, 2016 – Presidential & State Election (last day to register is October 19)
