Historical Research at the Registry of Deeds
On Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 7 pm at the Adams (Chelmsford) Library at 25 Boston Rd, Chelmsford, I will give a talk on how to use the records of the registry of deeds to conduct historical research. All land ownership records for the towns of Billerica, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Dracut, Dunstable, Lowell, Tewksbury, Tyngsborough, Westford and Wilmington from the year 1629 to the present are freely available online on the website of the Middlesex North Registry of Deeds. These records provide a rich historical research for genealogists, historians, those interested in house histories and many others. This free talk will explain how these records are organized and will offer helpful hints on how to retrieve those relevant to your inquiry.
This program is sponsored by the Chelmsford Genealogy Society and is free of charge. For more information, please visit the website of the Adams Library.
