What do you know, this is Bay State Bike Week. Julia Hans, a member of the city’s Green Building Commission did a blog post on her “Green Sense” blog about the significance of the week. Here’s some of what she wrote:
Bay State Bike Week begins this weekend and runs May 10-18. It’s a reminder of the role cyclists play in moving us away from fossil fuel-dependent transportation to greener, cleaner options. . .
. . . Let’s get on our bikes this week and make a statement about the need for alternative transportation. And be sure to support your city’s bike lane initiatives. It’s one step closer to a greener, cleaner city.
