This coming Sunday, March 16, 2014, at 10 a.m., I’ll be giving a talk about Lowell in the Civil War at UnchARTed Gallery at 66 Merrimack Street in Lowell (right next to Edible Arrangements at the corner of Merrimack and Central). The event is in conjunction of an exhibition of photos by Rachel Napear of Civil War reenactors in the field. My talk will cover the pre-war period in Lowell, the experience of some of the men who fought, and the influence of veterans in the life of the city in post-war Lowell. At the end of the talk, I’ll offer an optional walking tour of Civil War sites in downtown Lowell.
