Steve Gendron for School Committee website
Above is a screen shot of the new Steve Gendron for Lowell School Committee website. You can find the actual website is here. Steve’s Twitter account (which is here), announces that he will be a guest on WCAP radio tomorrow morning at 8:15.
Below is a portion of the “About Steve” portion of the website:
Steve Gendron is a lifelong resident of Lowell and a product of Lowell High School. His family has called Lowell home for six generations. He grew up in the lower Highlands neighborhood where he learned the value of hard work and the importance of education from his parents, Mary and Arthur Gendron. Arthur, a Lowell firefighter and World War 2 veteran, worked two jobs to provide for his six children. Mary was a stay at home Mom, but when the kids grew older she became a teacher’s aide at Lowell High School for many years.
His wife, Kate Gendron, a high-school teacher, and Steve have raised four sons in Lowell and live in the Belvidere neighborhood. Their three oldest sons, Stephen, Matthew and Michael are Lowell High School graduates, and their youngest Christopher is currently a student at the school. The three older boys are great examples of what you can do with a diploma from LHS, each having gone to a respected college and started meaningful careers.
Steve has a long history of commitment to public service in Lowell, having served consistently on a variety of roles for the last 20 years. In his roles as a Lowell City Councilor, Library Trustee and Planning Board Member, Steve has demonstrated a high level of integrity, a passion for Lowell and a willingness to work hard for the betterment of the City.
A UMass Lowell graduate with a degree in electrical engineering, Steve has held a variety of roles during his 30-year professional career in the private sector. His experiences as an engineer, manager, marketing and now sales executive have given him a perspective that is invaluable in public life.
Steve is a great guy. I wish him well. I know he will tackle any task once he is on the school committee.
