The East Pawtucketville neighborhood group shared a notice of its upcoming “Green” event which will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2012 Here are the particulars:

Kerouac in East Pawtucketville Tour at 1:00 pm

Kerouac expert Roger Burnelle will lead a walking tour about Jack Kerouac and East Pawtucketville on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 1:00 pm.

The tour is scheduled as part of Green Day in East Pawtucketville (10 am to 4 pm in the public parking lot at University and Gershom Ave.).

The tour will visit places in East Pawtucketville related to the life and literature of Jack Kerouac. Lear more about what Kerouac has done for the neighborhood through American literature, the role of the French in East Pawtucketville, and the ways East Pawtucketville has figured in the history of Lowell.

No pre-registration is required just come to the East Pawtucketville Neighborhood Group booth at 12:45 pm on Saturday in “Gershlot”. There is no charge for this great event, just come and learn more about the neighborhood.
