First Lunchtime Lecture this Fall: The Promise of Gritty Cities

Catherine Tumber, author of “Small, Gritty, and Green: The Promise of America’s Smaller Industrial Cities in a Low–Carbon World,” will be the featured speaker on Monday, Sept. 24, at 11:45 am, in the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center Lunchtime Lectures series. This series is a UMass Lowell Center for Arts and Ideas’ partnership with the Moses Greeley Parker Lectures, Middlesex Community College, the UMass Lowell Center for Industrial Competitiveness, and others. You get to hear Tumber, and a buffet lunch is free. Seating is limited to 100. RSVP to artsandideas@uml.edu by Wednesday, Sept. 19. The Inn & Conference Center is at 50 Warren Court in downtown Lowell. Parking is available in the adjacent garage.

    Thanks for the reminder. It seems that Lowell should fit the bill as a Green Community, and maybe additional steps that it can take.
