The Library, the Manager and the Sun

Be sure to read Jack Mitchell’s recent post on Left-in-Lowell about the Lowell Sun’s coverage of the City Manager and the Pollard Memorial Library. Jack prudently copied and retained some interesting Facebook postings that have since been (mysteriously) deleted. Thankfully, Jack includes them in his piece.

The SUN seems to be very involved in personnel matters of the City, and apparently are able to feed off some disgruntled employees, or ex-employees. But when they lead with a suggestion that someone gets fired, they have overstepped their position. Shouldn’t ethics apply to newspapers?

I think we know that ethics don’t apply to the Lowell Sun. Maybe the Murdoch stuff will finally get them thinking that its time to become a bit more ethical but I won’t hold my breath.
