Ah, California 30 years ago, back when I was a non-resident resident.  I arrived in 1956, as a teenager, when my Father got a job at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard.

Back then it was a magical place, something to be admired and emulated.  Today?  Not so much.

The greatness that came from State Government lead by the likes of Earl Warren or Goodie Knight or Pat Brown or Ronald Reagan has long since been consumed and now it suggests a state looking for a receivership, the Governator notwithstanding.
