Lowell Walks resumes tomorrow with a guided walking tour of the lower Highlands/Cambodia Town. The tour begins at Roberto Clemente Park at 10 am and will be conducted rain or shine. It is free and lasts 90 minutes.
The tour will be led by me (Dick Howe) and Paul Ratha Yem and will focus on the 19th and early 20th century history of the neighborhood and then the more recent history during which the neighborhood became a center for the Cambodian community of Lowell.
Parking is available on both sides of Middlesex Street, at a small lot adjacent to Clemente Park, and on nearby streets, especially Pevey Street and Western Avenue.
