GLCF Announces Awards Totalling $94,500 to Local Nonprofits

The Greater Lowell Community Foundation has just published the lastest “Notes” from Executive Director Susan Winship. One announcement of great interest lists the 2014 grant awardees:

GLCF Awards $94,500 to Local Nonprofits

 The Greater Lowell Community Foundation is pleased to announce that 20 organizations received funds totaling $94,500 for the 2014 grant cycle. Funds were awarded to Merrimack Valley organizations to address substance abuse prevention, social enterprise, healthy communities, clean water resources, elder services, children’s services, leadership programs, and the creative economy. The following organizations received funding: Angkor Dance Troupe, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell, Clean River Project, Circle Home, Inc., Coalition for a Better Acre, Esperanza Academy, Family Services of the Merrimack Valley, Gaining Ground, Girls Incorporated of Greater Lowell, Habitat for Humanity, International Institute, Jericho Road Project, Juvenile Court Restorative Justice Program, Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust, The Lowell Plan, Merrimack Valley Food Bank, Mill City Grows/YWCA, Inc., Nashua River Watershed Association, Roudenbush Community Center, and Strongwater Farm Therapeutic Equestrian Center.

As a founding and senior member of the GLCF Distribution Committee, I am proud that so many area non-profit organizations are sharing nearly $95,000. The GLCF  trustees, donors and members continues a long-standing commitment to improving the quality of life in its distribution area.
