Kevin Broderick resigned from the council on August 29, 2012. Because tenth place finisher Armand Mercier had died on January 13, 2012, eleventh place finisher John Leahy joined the council to fill the rest of Broderick’s term. Leahy was sworn in on September 11, 2012.

Greater Lowell Technical High School Committee member Mike Lenzi resigned from the committee effective October 11, 2012 after he moved from Lowell to Dracut.
