Lowell Storytelling This Saturday Night
There’s an interesting event coming up this Saturday night. It’s the debut of Lowell Storytelling which is the creation of Lowell’s Laura Frye. Saturday’s performance will feature six local residents sharing a true story of each of their lives in Lowell. The storytellers will be joined onstage by Renard Boissiere and Mike Tepper from Nardy Boy, a funk, Jazz, and Blues group from New Orleans and Bridgeport, CT.
The storytellers include: Christa Brown, MJ Bujold, Samantha Coleman, Vito Anthony Couch, John Curtis, and Peg Shanahan. The stories include a near-death experience, life in one of Lowell’s sober houses, a young man’s decision to join the US Marines during the Vietnam War, a young woman’s journey to buying her first home, and more.
This event is this Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 7:30 PM at the Richard and Nancy Donahue Family Academic Arts Center of MCC, formerly known as the Rialto Building (240 Central Street, Lowell, MA 01852). Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.
