Rally for Civic Engagement this Friday
This coming Friday, September 2, 2016, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, there will be a “Rally for Civic Engagement” at JFK Plaza, alongside Lowell City Hall. The event is sponsored by Lowell Votes which is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization that encourages all Lowell citizens to vote, with special emphasis on those who face barriers to voting or who have historically low turnout rates.
At the rally, any candidate who is on the ballot this fall will have the opportunity to make a short stump speech. All four candidates for the 18th Middlesex State Representative seat are expected to participate along with candidates for sheriff and governor’s councilor.
Along with the speeches, there will be musical entertainment, a raffle, and the new “Let’s Roll” foodtruck.
