Celebrate Cambodian Arts tonight
James Ostis sent the following notice:
The UMass Lowell Center for Arts and Ideas invites you to “Celebrate Cambodian Arts” on Thursday, April 3, 2014. As part of this daylong festival, the Angkor Dance Troupe will present a special performance of their original show, Apsara Dancing Stones, at 7 p.m. in Durgin Concert Hall.
Apsara Dancing Stones is a contemporary dance drama blending Western and Eastern influences, first performed in 2012 as a celebration of Angkor Dance Troupe’s 25th anniversary. Angkor Dance Troupe was founded in Lowell in 1986 and its mission is to connect communities through the preservation, education and innovation of Cambodian Performing Arts.
General admission tickets cost $25. We have also reserved a limited number (200) of free tickets for UMass Lowell students. Please share this information with your students, colleagues, and anyone else you believe would be interested. Students can reserve tickets by emailing James_Ostis@uml.edu. General admission tickets may be purchased at the door.
“Celebrate Cambodian Arts” is a collaboration among UMass Lowell’s Music, Cultural Studies, and English departments; Center for Asian American Studies; Center for Arts and Ideas; and Cambodian American Student Association (CASA), in partnership with Angkor Dance Troupe and Flying Orb Productions of Lowell.
