Armory Park
Armory Park Monument – 50-74 Westford St – This monument was dedicated on November 11, 1985, on the site of the city’s historic armory which was constructed in 1891 and demolished in 1973. The inscription on the monument is ARMORY PARK – IN APPRECIATION TO ALL NATIONAL GUARDSMEN WHO TRAINED ON THIS SITE FROM JAN. 29, 1891 TO SEPT 9, 1973 AND SERVED THIS CITY, STATE, AND NATION AGAINST NATURE’S WRATH: FLOODS, FIRES, HURRICANES, SNOWSTORMS AND MAN’S GREATEST MISTAKE – WAR. AND TO ALL THOSE WHO PAID THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.
