2022 Primary Results

Here is a quick look at the contested races on yesterday’s ballot in the state primary elections. I’ll update it with more detailed results tonight:

16th Middlesex Representative District: Rodney Elliott defeated Zoe Dzineku in the Democratic primary. The district includes parts of Lowell and Chelmsford. In Lowell, Elliott received 1154 votes to Dzineku’s 921. In Chelmsford, Elliott received 721 votes to Dzineku’s 852. Overall, Elliott received 1,875 votes; Dzineku received 1,773 votes. Elliott will face Republican Karla Miller in the general election. She was unopposed in the Republican Primary.

18th Middlesex Representative District: Democratic incumbent Rady Mom was renominated in a close race against two challengers. Here are the results:

Rady Mom – 1,023 votes
Tara Hong –      955 votes
Dominik Lay –   352 votes

There is no Republican nominee so Mom will be unopposed in the general election.

Eric Lesser – 32.6% statewide – 1,383 votes in Lowell
Tami Gouveia – 20.4% statewide – 2,082 votes in Lowell

Attorney General:
Andrea Campbell – 50.7% statewide – 3,206 votes in Lowell
Shannon Liss-Riordan – 33.9% statewide – 2,443 votes in Lowell
Quentin Palfrey – 15.4% statewide – 862 votes in Lowell

Secretary of State
William Galvin – 69.6% statewide – 4,783 votes in Lowell
Tanisha Sullivan – 30.4% statewide – 1,931 votes in Lowell

Auditor:
Diana DiZoglio – 53.6% statewide – 4,124 votes in Lowell
Chris Dempsey – 46.4% statewide – 2,253 votes in Lowell

Republican Primary

Governor:
Geoff Diehl – 55.5% statewide – 1,154 votes in Lowell
Chris Doughty – 44.5% statewide – 754 votes in Lowell

Lt Governor:
Leah Allen – 52.1% statewide – 1,079 votes in Lowell
Kate Campanale – 47.9% statewide – 655 votes in Lowell
