Lowell High to host program on Ukraine Crisis
This coming Friday at 2:45 pm, Lowell High School has organized a panel discussion on the crisis in Ukraine, Crimea, and the Russian Federation. The program will take place in the Lowell High Little Theater and will last until until 4 pm. The public is invited to attend.
Panelists for the program are:
Dr. Sophia Diak – Shklar Postdoctoral Fellow at the Ukrainian Research Institute, Harvard University
Lt. Col. Peter D’Amico, USAF ret. – LHS AFJROTC – Assistant Air Force Attaché to the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, 1998–2000
Robert DeLossa – LHS Social Studies, Interim Dept. Chair – Executive Board of the American Association for Ukrainian Studies, 1996–2006
The panel will provide background and analysis on Ukraine, Crimea, and the Russian Federation and will discuss questions such as What are the basic
facts and historical context regarding this conflict? What are the roots of the conflict in WWII and the Cold War? Are we headed into another Cold War? What options does the United States have in its foreign policy in the region? What are the nuclear implications of the crisis?

Lowell High School is located at 50 Fr. Morissette Blvd., Lowell, MA 01852. Parking is available in the Ayotte Garage across the street from the school near the Tsongas Center. All visitors to the high school should enter at the main entrance which is opposite the side door of the Ayotte Garage.
