I’d like to say I’m surprised, but I’m not. Lowell can’t have nice things.

Thank you for tolerating our nonsense for this long Manager Lynch. You will be missed by the many of us who don’t know a guy who’s brother golfed with (insert has-been nobody only known to “prestigious” Lowell here).

I think that this is a sad day for the city, but thanks to Mr. Lynch for his excellent years of service. I wish him well in future endeavors.

I am a huge fan of Bernie Lynch, both professionally and personally.

I admire the work he’s done to restore the city’s finances, its long-term liabilities, its professionalism, its reputation, etc. I’ve enjoyed working with him, and I look forward to being his neighbor.

But whether you’re more a fan of Ecclesiastes or the Byrds, I’ll point out that both remind us of this: “To everything there is a season.”

7.5 years is a great run. Personalities can’t endure, but great systems can. The city’s continued success post-Bernie will be a testament to his legacy.
