Unwanted Medication Disposal Today
Today is Unwanted Medication Disposal Day at the Lowell Health Department. From 3 pm until 7 pm, bring your unwanted, unneeded, or expired medication to the Lowell Health Department at 341 Pine Street (formerly known as the Brady School and then the Pine Street School). For prescriptions, peel the label off and place everything in zip lock bags.
Disposing of medications properly is an important environmental protection method. Simply flushing things down the toilet or tossing them in the trash places potentially dangerous chemicals in places that can harm us all. And, leaving unneeded medications around the house might create the kind of opportunity that leads or contributes to the type of opioid addiction that is plaguing our community.
When Seattle Grunge music was all the rage, I saw Pearl Jam at Cumnock Hall (March 1992?). Yes. Neil Young is the Godfather of Grunge.
I also remember hearing something about too much Starbucks getting washed down the storm drains: Northwest coastal waters slightly caffeinated, study finds

Caffiene is one thing. Other pharmaceuticals? No thanks!
