The Lowell Folk Festival website just posted a list of the performers who will be at this year’s Lowell Folk Festival on July 29-31, 2011:

Dervish – One of Ireland’s Premier Traditional Music Groups
Bill Kirchen and Too Much Fun – Dieselbilly
Eddie Pennington – “Travis-style” thumb-picked guitar
Hector del Curto’s Tango Quartet – Tango
Le Vent du Nord – Quebecois
Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper – Bluegrass
Shemekia Copeland – Blues
Stanky & the Coal Miners – Eastern-style polka
The Birmingham Sunlights – a cappella gospel
The Quebe Sisters Band – Texas fiddling and harmony singing

    This is the 25th Lowell Folk Festival! If the names of the performers seem familiar – they are! Most if not all have performed at past festivals and have been asked back as part of the celebration of 25 years. Stay tuned – there are more names to come!
