This Saturday from 2 pm to 330 pm, a group of Lowell residents will gather at Kittredge Park at the corner of Andover and Nesmith Street to celebrate the park. There will be acoustic music, food, and a talk by me on the history of the park and the story of Captain Paul Kittredge, the man for whom the park is named.
Besides enjoying the park and the company, the gathering will also raise awareness of MassDOT’s plan to cut down a number of trees along the stretch of Nesmith Street between Andover and East Merrimack, in order to widen the road. A public hearing on this plan will be held this coming Thursday, July 28, 2016, at 7 pm at the Pollard Memorial Library.
