Marjorie Arons-Barron is a familiar name and face to anyone who watched Boston’s Channel 5 for a Sunday morning news fix through the years. It was in that setting that Marjorie became a good friend of the late Paul Sullivan. Since Paul’s passing, Marjorie and many of Paul’s friends including our co-blogger, Tony Accardi, joined together in support of Middlesex Community College’s Paul Sullivan Leadership Institute. After a recent meeting of the institute, Tony and Marjorie began a discussion about the role of new media – blogs and social networking sites, in particular – in the world today. That discussion has led to Marjorie agreeing to send us occasional pieces she has posted on her own blog for cross-posting here on richardhowe.com. We are thrilled to have her as a contributor and welcome her to the Greater Lowell blogosphere.

Welcome to the group, Marjorie. My wife, Rosemary, and I know Marjorie as a friend and past colleague of Rosemary’s. Just yesterday Rosemary mentioned that Marjorie had launched a blog. Little did I know that we’d have a Lowell connection to it. This is great.
