Much To Poll About Nothing

Wow, have you seen the results of the latest 7News/Suffolk University poll regarding the US Senate race in Massachusetts? It had several major revelations for me…
Here is one…After polling 600 people the results showed that 73% of voters don’t even know in which month the election is being held. Ah, can you say “low turn out”.
Here is another…Attorney General Martha Coakley who has spend he majority of the race trying to fly under the radar screen is leading the field by an astounding 24% (Yes! 24% is her lead, not her polling number). Call me naive…but how do you get that far ahead while saying so little?
And yet another revelation… Celtic’s owner, Steve (money Pags) Pagliuca is running second, yes second, ahead of sitting Congressman Mike Capuano. Heck, Pags is in my living room so often these days I am thinking of inviting him to Thanksgiving Dinner (that’s if he’ll bring Kevin Garnett).
And the final one…City Year founder Alan Khazei is polling at a dismal 3%. Can you image only 3% of the people would vote for Alan, and his father was a doctor (did you miss that)?
I find this poll amazing and disappointing…Talk about a non-election, “election”. This race needs some energy. I knew Meehan should have run.
Here are the complete 7News/Suffolk poll results…
Martha Coakley 44%
Steve Pagliuca 17%
Mike Capuano 16%
Alan Khazei 3%

Looks like the next step for Capuano might be to change his name to “Ted Kennedy.” And why not? He already set the record for most Kennedy references in a sixty minute span in the last debate.
As for Alan Khazei, I think KIM Khazei would poll better than 3%. Jeez.
I agree - for such a rare opportunity (an open Senate seat), this race has been a bore. I cannot believe that this was the best we could do. I am voting for Scott Brown anyway.
Thanks Tony for keeping me posted on the election.I am in Ballymacooda,Kimaley, County Clare Ireland seven miles outside Ennis the home of my Father.
