Grand opening of ChelmsfordMassNews.com
Posted by DickH on 16 Oct 2009 at 08:40 pm | Tagged as: Greater Lowell, Technology
The on-line newspaper ChelmsfordMassNews.com will host an open house at its new office tomorrow (Saturday, October 17) from 1 pm to 5 pm. The office is at 175 Princeton Street, North Chelmsford. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 1:30 pm and refreshments will be served throughout the day.
ChelmsfordMassNews.com is one of a new breed of truly local news organizations that publishes 24/7 on the internet. Without the high cost of printing and delivering newspaper, this online news outlet can focus all of its resources to coverning the town in great depth including such traditional newspaper standbys as high school sports and obituaries. When more traditional newspapers make the imminent jump to charging for access to their websites, readers who obtain their news online who have grown up not paying for such news will quickly migrate to free, intensely local sites such as this one.

The small towns like Tynsboro need a TynsboroMassNews. That maybe be in the future.
Thanks Dick! I just bookmarked ChelmsfordMass.com…why is it taking so long for media honchos to understand it is time to take the “paper” out of the “newspaper” industry?
