Good night for dogs

It was a good night for canines. The referendum to ban dog racing in Massachusetts passed. And in his victory speech, President-elect Obama, after telling his two daughters how much he loved them, added “You have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us to the White House.”
I wonder if they’d consider a greyhound - there are plenty from Massachusetts who will soon be looking for work.

We will celebrate the win for da doggies someday soon with the adoption of a rescue Italian (a mini) greyhound. (These are not racing greyhounds, but many do need rescuing for other reasons.)
They is sooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!!
(And funny, the Obama comment, heh)
One issue that was never address during the debate over Question 3.
Now that dog racing will be banned in Massachusetts.
How many of the Greyhounds will be adopted, and how many will end up being put to death because they weren’t adopted and racing is illegal?
Not as many as you think. Most will be sold to other kennels in other parts of America or maybe even Europe. Or maybe a kennel owner might take his dogs and relocate to some other track rather then just sell them off. I wonder how many former Massachusetts Greyhounds will wind up in WORSE racing situations?
